Lefteris Karapetsas, one of the main developers, said that on July 19, a new test network of the payment channel project for the Ethereum Raiden blockchain was launched at the Dappcon developer conference in Berlin.

Updates of the latest Release include the ability to restore the payment channel if it was closed unintentionally and the initial implementation of the settlement by scaling, which will allow the transfer of Ethereum tokens outside the main blockchain.

“This is the first step on the way to entering the main network,” said Lefteris Karapetsas

Karapetsas said that the new release is an early release implementation for the core network and contains a new rewritten code of smart contracts and payment channels that can be recovered in the event of an inadvertent closure.

During the presentation of the test network, Karapetsas invited developers to join the network to check for errors and bugs and reporting a bounty program to be launched to reward this activity.

“We really want people to take part in the testing. We have a user interface and API. In addition, we have opened Github for everything they can find. We hope to get to the main network without bugs “

As for the launch date of the main network – the exact dates are not yet indicated, but the developers intend to adhere to this earlier promise and make a launch this summer.

“Until the end of August, there will still be summer,” said Karapetsas. “By its characteristics, the solution for the core network will correspond to what is now in the test net.”
