According to the representatives of the exchange, this event happened accidentally, and the funds put under attack were already put out for cold storage
19 users of the South Korean exchange Bitkoex suffered from the leakage of their personal data. It is reported that these users were holders of Karma tokens (KRM).
The case has put under attack the hackers funds worth about 620 thousand dollars. Among the personal data – postal addresses of the Exchange customers, addresses of their purses and private keys.
The leak occurred through the fault of one of the employees of the new exchange. He posted information about investments in Karma tokens in the group chat of the Kakao application, indicating the mail addresses of users and addresses of their crypto-currency purses along with private keys that enable them to steal funds.
Officers of the exchange assure that negligent actions were committed inadvertently. The funds on vulnerable addresses were immediately sent to cold wallets, which means they are completely safe.
