According to Cointelegraph, Italians use Bitcoin as a payment tool to pay for online purchases on average 215,800 times a month, more often than traditional credit card payments.

Cryptocurrency payments have become the third most popular method of payment in online stores in the country after PayPal and the local payment service PostePay respectively.

At the same time, American Express occupies only the third position of the rating – only 190,000 payments every month on average.

Cryptocurrency is so popular even against the background of regulatory uncertainty in Italy, and, as a consequence, not the most proactive support for this method of payment by local online stores and e-commerce sites.
