Over the past day, a record high number of transactions with SegWit was made – 55.48% on block 522346.
After that, the percentage of transactions carried out has declined and is still at a level close to 36%.
It should be noted that the value of 95.65% was previously achieved on block 519667.
Also, a deeper analysis of the data showed that in the last month there are blocks in which the percentage of softphone support is 100%, but all of them are empty.
In addition, attention is paid to the fact that many blocks exceed the size of 1MB, although the main purpose of the soft fork was to reduce transaction costs, in fact, it caused the expansion of the sizes of the blocks.
Proponents of protocols with a large block size, such as those of BTC, often state that the Bitcoin network does not receive sufficient scaling due to the limit at 1Mb.
It is worth noting that, according to research, currently the volume of transactions in the SegWit network has already surpassed BCH, since its launch in August 2017.
